Web Design Project Timeline

Planning
This phase is literally the foundation of your entire project.
Design
Site structure (wireframe) and visual concept designed and delivered.
Content Creation
This phase begins once the site map has been approved.
Development
This phase involves the final coding of your website and addition of content.

Planning

This phase is literally the foundation of your entire project. It’s value cannot be overrated and your engagement, feedback and collaboration are paramount to delivering a final product that meets your needs and desires.
Needs Analysis
Included in this analysis is a list of your goals, target customer, specification of features needs on your website (shopping cart, event calendar, member area, etc.) and all other relevant details
Project Charter
This document is a summary of all the information gathered and approved in the Needs Analysis and will provide a compass for the project.
Site Map
Site maps offer a detailed breakdown of how the planned website will be structured. It includes main navigation, location of significant call to action buttons, newsletter sign up placement, details of dropdown menus, and all other significant functionality.
Assignment of Roles
It’s very important for the responsibilities of all significant players to be clear before beginning a large web design project. We will assign members of our team to different areas of your site and require you to let us know who will be in charge of making final decisions and giving approval. During this step, we’ll train you on how to access your files and significant information for review.

Design

The details gathered and finalized in the planning stage are expanded further and put into play in this stage. You will be required to review a site structure and visual concept that will form the basis of your site structure and aesthetic.
Wireframe and Design Components
Wireframes provide a visual blueprint allowing you to see the skeleton of how your site will look and function. Your page layout and site content will be displayed minus typography, color and graphics. The focus is on clarifying functionality, behavior and content priority.
Review, Adjust, Approve Cycle
Wireframes and mock-ups will be delivered during the design phase. We meet with you to discuss functionality and aesthetic. Based on your feedback, adjustments are made until everyone is happy. This is the easiest time to make changes, not after coding has taken place.
Coding Time
After we receive approval on the design and wireframes, coding and development of your site begins. Testing will take place in this phase to make sure functionality and aesthetic mesh.

Content Creation

This phase begins once the site map has been approved.
Discovery
To be able to speak in your voice and present your business accurately we’ll need to spend time getting to what you do and why you do it. What are your goals? Are you a startup or do you have a rich history?
Research
We’ll conduct surveys, interview customers, research your industry and analyze the culture surrounding your services. This information will set the tone and presentation of your content.
Writing and Approval
Content will be drafted and sent to your assigned reviewer. Adjustments will be made based on feedback. After receiving approval, your content will be prepped for the website.

Development

This phase involves the final coding of your website and addition of content.
Assessment
Sometimes during this phase small changes need to be made to the original plans based on the interaction between the content and the coding. We’ll assess each page of the site to make sure it’s user-friendly and functional.
Testing
Once content and graphics have been added to the framework, your site will be tested on all browsers, mobile and desktop. We’ll also test any forms and buttons. Adjustments will be made as needed. Your feedback will be required at this point.

Final Approval

After a thorough review of your site, we’ll request final approval. This will conclude your web design project but don’t worry. We’re only a phone call, email, text, Facebook message away!
At this point, you’ll have a beautiful, robust, interactive website. With your collaboration, we’ll create a digital home for your business. After launch, it’s important to keep in an eye on your analytics and adjust your content and site functionality to best match your users. It’s our goal to partner deeply with you and we’ll explain how we can assist with maintaining your website.
